This course is designed to help educators identify those students who may be at risk for certain harmful behaviors. Topics include: Why children engage in Sexual Behaviors, What teachers and parents can say to the inquiring child, Detailed explanation of the male and female reproductive anatomy, Prevention of Teen Pregnancy, Learning age-appropriate terminology even for the elementary child, Detection and prevention of HIV and AIDS, learning the differences between high, low and virtually no risk behaviors in regards to contracting a sexually transmitted disease. The material covered is suitable for educators of all age levels. Once warning signs are discussed several preventative and intervention strategies will be detailed as well. |
